Todd Alcott currently serves as a Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) teacher at Warren East High School in Bowling Green, KY. His passion for education and mentorship is evident in his work with students, guiding them towards excellence both in and out of the classroom.
Before his career in education, Mayor Alcott spent 21.5 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a respected Lt. Colonel in the fall of 2016. His military service took him and his family across the globe, from the vibrant streets of Las Vegas, Nevada, to the historical landscapes of Italy, Guam, Virginia, Belgium, and beyond. Mayor Alcott's diverse roles included serving as Chief of Resilience at the Pentagon Air Staff, Squadron Commander at key bases such as Osan Air Base, Manas Air Base, and Ramstein Air Base, and overseeing critical operations in locations like Kyrgyzstan, Germany, and Iraq.
Returning to his roots in Bowling Green after retirement, Todd felt a continued calling to serve his community. In 2020, he was elected Mayor of Bowling Green, KY, bringing a wealth of leadership and global perspectives to his local government role. His wife, Deb Alcott, is also involved in education as a multi-lingual learner teacher at Bowling Green High School. Together, they have instilled a love for learning and a spirit of service in their son, Jacob, who graduated from Purdue University with a Computer Science degree and now works for a software company in Chicago.
Mayor Alcott's academic journey includes earning a Bachelor of Science in Hotel & Restaurant Management with a minor in Business/Military Science from WKU, a Master of Information Management from the University of Phoenix and completing prestigious programs such as Squadron Officer School and Air Staff & Command College at Air University. He also holds a Kentucky Teacher Certification from the University of the Cumberlands, rounding out his expertise in both military and educational realms.
